Homemaking

art and science and magic

Houses are built; homes are made. Here I've collected some of my thoughts about the components of homemaking as essays and trip reports. More thoughts on living a happy and centered life I'm posting in my online journal.

Autumn Reminisce, 2002 - "Fall is such a wonderful time. The air feels like promise and secrets, of all that has gone before and all that is yet to come."

Fathers Day, 2002 - "There was a thunderstorm moving through early one evening... the kind you can see coming toward you across the plain well before the wind shifts and picks up."

My parents have made, and are making, a wonderful home. Part of their magic is not yielding up the wonder most people associate only with childhood. There are plenty of times and places for maturity and responsibility, but there is room for wonder, too. Thanks, you two, you're amazing!
